Mid-October Brings Art, Home Shows, and Halloween Season

The 29th Antimatter [media art] Festival opens downtown on Thursday, October 15 with video art and experimental film through October 25. The 40th annual Victoria Fall Home Show fills the Pearkes fieldhouse in Saanich October 16-18, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show returns to The Vic Theatre on October 17 for the Halloween season. Saturday, October 17 is municipal election day across Victoria, Saanich, Esquimalt, and Langford, with PumpkinFest in Langford's Westhills Park the same day. Car fans catch the VIRPCA Cars & Coffee every Sunday morning in the Uptown area and watch for warm-weather pop-up editions of the Broadmead Saturday Night Car Meetup at Royal Oak Drive on mild evenings. Galey Farms keeps its corn maze and fall festival running weekends through November 1, and the Goldstream salmon run builds through the month.
